Microneedling is one of the most effective professional treatments for transforming the skin’s texture, tone and firmness, yet it’s also one of the most misunderstood. Many people aren’t sure whether it’s painful, whether downtime is long, or if it’s only suitable for acne scars. At Beauty & Holistics with Vicky, I offer advanced microneedling using medical-grade ClinicCare and Revitalize serums, allowing me to tailor every session to your unique skin needs. Here’s your complete guide to how it works, what to expect and why it’s so popular.

What Is Microneedling?
Microneedling, also known as collagen induction therapy, uses ultra-fine needles to create tiny, controlled micro-channels in the skin. These micro-injuries stimulate your body’s natural healing response, encouraging the production of fresh collagen and elastin, improving cell turnover and enhancing product absorption.
On the face, depths typically range from 0.1mm to 1.0mm, depending on your skin concern. On the body, where skin is thicker and concerns like stretch marks are deeper, I may work up to 1.0mm–2.0mm. These controlled depths allow us to target everything from scarring to pigmentation to ageing.
The Benefits of Microneedling
Microneedling is loved for its versatility and natural collagen-stimulating power. Clients choose it for:
Smoother skin texture
Softer lines and wrinkles
Reduced pigmentation and sun damage
Shrinking enlarged pores
Brighter, more even skin tone
Reduced acne scarring
Firmer, tighter skin on the face and body
Improved hydration when combined with targeted serums
Long-term collagen improvement
This is not a “quick fix” treatment — your skin continues improving for months as collagen rebuilds beneath the surface.
Why Serums Matter So Much
During microneedling, the temporary channels in the skin allow professional serums to penetrate more deeply. Using the right serum is crucial, because this is where we can dramatically enhance your results.
I use two clinically trusted ranges: ClinicCare and Revitalize.
ClinicCare Microneedling Serums
ClinicCare is ideal for sensitive, dehydrated, acne-prone or rosacea-prone skin. These serums deliver powerful results with minimal irritation.
Tight – for oily, inflamed or acne-prone skin
Glow – for pigmentation, sun damage and dullness
Refresh – for anti-ageing, hydration and fine lines
Hair - for scalp and healthier hair growth
ClinicCare is perfect for first-time microneedling or those needing a gentler approach.
Revitalize Booster Serums (Europe – award-winning)

Microneedling Myths — Cleared Up
Despite being a powerful treatment, microneedling is often misunderstood. Let’s clear up the biggest myths:
“Microneedling is painful. ”Most clients describe it as a scratchy vibration, not painful. Numbing cream is always available for deeper work.
“You’ll have long downtime. ”You may be pink for 24–48 hours, but not “out of action.” Makeup can usually be worn after 24 hours.
“It’s only for acne scars. ”Microneedling is one of the best anti-ageing, brightening and firming treatments available.
“You can’t needle sensitive skin. ”You absolutely can, with the correct depth and the right serum.
Your Treatment Experience
Every session begins with a detailed consultation and skin analysis, ensuring we choose the correct serum, depth and approach for your concerns. After gently cleansing and preparing your skin, I apply your chosen serum and perform the microneedling treatment in a controlled, methodical pattern.
Most clients love the relaxing end phase, which includes a soothing mask or LED therapy to calm redness, reduce inflammation and enhance healing. Aftercare is always tailored specifically for your skin.
